Coach Hall has been involved with the game of hockey for nearly 40 years. A life long participant and student of the game, he began his coaching career in California with the Pasadena Maple Leaf organization in the late 80’s. He led his 1993 Bantam team to the state finals in California and two years later his Midget “A” team enjoyed an undefeated season and captured the Great Western Showcase Invitational Championship (Utah). Since moving to Texas in 1995, he has been actively involved in coaching and in 2000, he joined the coaching staff of the original Midget AAA (Tier I) program (now sponsored by the Dallas Stars). The Stars Midget AAA team became the first Texas team to ever qualify for the USA Hockey National Championship Tournament and has returned three additional times to the Tier I National Tournament. In 2003 the team made it to the USA Hockey final four before losing to eventual champion Shattuck St. Mary’s. In 2006-2007 the Stars Midget AAA Hockey Club established records for wins (55), tournament championships (five) and had the distinction of being ranked number one in the nation from October on by the US Hockey News. In his first season with the Texas Jr Brahmas (2007/2008), his Midget Minor team posted an NTXHL record of 25-1 capturing both the regular season championship and the playoff championship. The NTXHL title was the first ever for a Jr Brahmas team. The team has been ranked in the top ten all season long by www.nationalhockeyrankings.com. Coach Hall has attained the highest level of coaching certification (Masters) offered by USA Hockey and wrote his thesis on the unique challenges faced by travel coaches in non-traditional hockey locations.
